VetHubAMS is a collaborative platform designed to support professionals in the veterinary sector to improve the real-world implementation of AMU and AMS guidelines. By creating this platform, we aim to provide a private space where stakeholders can exchange strategies, promote international collaborations, and support each other in applying AMU and AMS guidelines in practice.
Antimicrobial resistance is an urgent global health threat. Its direct consequences include ineffective medications, infections that are difficult or impossible to treat, and increased mortality in both animals and humans. Better implementation of veterinary AMU and AMS guidelines can help reduce inappropriate antibiotic use and safeguard the effectiveness of current and future treatments.
The platform was developed as part of a research study led by the University of Liverpool and funded by UKRI Research England. Through focus groups and stakeholder engagement, the study identified key challenges and practical solutions to guideline implementation.
Although the forum and members area are reserved for professionals, the rest of our website is openly accessible to anyone interested in learning more about responsible antimicrobial use in animals. We welcome animal owners, students, and the wider public to explore our resources and learn more about the importance of safeguarding animal health and preserving the effectiveness of current and future treatments.
