Who will own my data once I submit it?

The University of Liverpool will own your data.

 

Why do you need my information?

We collect your information so that you can register as a member of the VetHubAMS – the Veterinary Antimicrobial Stewardship Community of Practice. This is a professional platform focused on improving the implementation of antimicrobial use and stewardship guidelines in the veterinary sector.

We use your information to:

  • Approve and manage your access to the private forum and member’s area
  • Create your member profile (name, occupation, affiliation, and optional photo)
  • Allow you to participate in professional discussions with other members
  • Display the content you post (e.g. forum messages) to other registered members
  • Send you updates about new events or relevant news (if you choose to receive them)

Please note that the forum is intended as a peer-to-peer discussion space and anything you post will be visible to other registered members.

 

What allows you to use my information?

We are using your information with your consent. You can withdraw your consent, delete your profile and leave the platform at any time. If you choose to do so, your personal information and profile will be permanently removed from the website.

 

Who will my information be shared with?

Your name, occupation and affiliation will be visible to other registered members through the members’ area and within forum discussions. Any comments, posts, or replies you share on the forum will also be visible to other registered members.

We will not share your personal data with any third parties

Do I have to provide this information and what will happen if I don’t?

This links to the purposes of collecting this information, what legal reason do we have for collecting the information and what services or functions can’t be delivered if we don’t collect this information? What are the consequences for not providing it?

To become a registered member of the forum, we need your name, email address, occupation and affiliation. Without this information, we cannot approve your account and allow you access to the members only forum.

You are not required to upload a photo or share additional details unless you decide to.

You can withdraw from the platform and delete your profile at any time by contacting us using the Support page or contacting [email protected].

 

How long will you keep this data for and why?

We will keep your data until the platform closes or until you delete your profile, whichever comes first.

We keep your data for this period to allow you unrestricted access to the forum and member’s area, and to be able to maintain the continuity of discussions and collaboration on the platform.

 

How will my information be stored?

Your data will be stored securely on University of Liverpool servers or through an approved website hosting provider. Access to full user data is restricted to project team members and authorised IT staff.

If you delete your profile, your data will be permanently removed from your system.

 

Will this information be used to take automated decisions about me?

No. We will not use your data to make any automated decisions about you.

 

Will my data be transferred abroad and why?

No. Your data will be stored within the UK. We will not transfer your personal data outside the UK.

 

What rights do I have when it comes to my data?

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, you may have the following rights with regards to your personal data:

  • The Right to subject access – you have the right to see a copy of the personal data that the University holds about you and find out what it is used for.
  • The Right to rectification – you have the right to ask the University to correct or remove any inaccurate data that we hold about you.
  • The Right to erasure (right to be forgotten) you have the right to ask the University to remove data that we hold about you.
  • The Right to restriction – you have the right to ask for your information to be restricted (locked down) on University systems.
  • The Right to data portability – you have the right to ask for your data to be transferred back to you or to a new provider at your request.
  • The Right to object – you have the right to ask the University to stop using your personal data or to stop sending you marketing information, or complain about how your data is used.
  • The Right to prevent automated decision making – you have the right to ask the University to stop using your data to make automated decisions about you or to stop profiling your behaviour (where applicable).
